Beautiful sky and trees fields are flooded areas of arable land used for the cultivation of semi-aquatic crops, especially rice and taro. It originates from the Neolithic rice-cultivating culture of the Yangtze River basin in southern China, associated with pre-Austronesian and Hmong-Mien cultures.
