Why is Abu Nawas acting like a madman? The story goes like this:
One day when his father was seriously ill and was about to die he called Abu Nawas to face. Abu Nawas came to find his father who is weakened limp.
Said his father, "My son, I'm almost dead. Now kiss your right ear and my left ear."
Abu Nawas immediately followed his father's last request. He kissed his father's right ear, it smelled nice, while the left side smelled very bad.
"Have you been kissing me?"
"Right you!"
"Tell me honestly, it smells both of my ears."
"Oh sir, it's amazing, your right ear smells so good, but ... the one on the left does it smell so bad?"
"Hi my son Abu Nawas, do you know what can happen this way?"
"O my father, try to tell your son."
Said Sheikh Maulana "One day a couple came to complain about the matter to me, the one I heard the complaint, but the other one because I was not asylum then I did not hear the complaint. This is the risk of becoming Kadi (Penghulu), Jia later you like to be Kadi then you will experience the same, but if you do not like being a Kadi then make a plausible excuse that you are not chosen as Kadi by Sultan Harun Al Rashid, but surely Sultan Harun Al Rashid must still choose you as Kadi. "
Nan, that's why Abu Nawas pretends to be crazy. Only in order to avoid being cadres, a kadi or penghulu at that time was his position like a judge who decided upon a case. Although Abu Nawas did not become Kadi but he was often consulted by the King to decide a case. In fact he is often forced to come to the palace just to answer the King's question that weird and unreasonable.
