Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is a common type of lung cancer which leads to many genetic abnormalities that encourage the growth of tumours. Among these alterations, rearrangements of the anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) gene have been found to be a major reason for the mutation in NSCLC.
