Channels. I do like Discord Channels because they help discussions stay on topic (most of the time) but too many channels might get me, or everyone confused or lost. Does a Steemit discord really need 46 different post promotion channels!? (Yes, I counted the ones from Cervantes) Wouldn't it be better to have fewer, but more general channels so more people see each category? There's a NSFW post promotion, and also erotic stories? Wouldn't they also be considered NSFW?
My point is that a Steemit discord, like the rest of Discord communities don't need to have 60+ channels just because you want to include any bizarre subject you feel like including. It makes it confusing and hard to use. More so when you're in 10 different whale/curators discord and you lose the track of life. You start reading only one or two, and leaving all the other ones to die, because honestly some people can't be bothered to check that many things.
Now, I know that when there are so many people it's hard to keep discussions on board and that's when they're the most useful. But everything needs order and it's very hard to manage a group with for example 5000 members. But with so much channels the community spreads, and that's not counting those who only get on your discord channel to promote their posts.
I think there should not be SO MANY channels in your Discords, please take note! I think no more than 50 channels would be enough for everything that could cover a large community, and no more than 10 or 20 for smaller ones. Of course I can not predict the use you're going to give Discord, but I can tell you of users like me who get lost or can't bother checking so many channels.
Another thing I see is people who only go to Discord to promote their posts. This is not a problem, given the post promotion channels but at the same time I would like it if they were better integrated into the community, aside from them just going into discord for free promotion. What if we put a restriction on how much someone needs to talk before being able to promote their posts? or only promote 1 post per day? (This one is already enforced on some communities and trails.)
I like PALs network because although it has a lot of channels, most of the ones you'll never be using are at the very top (the first one) or thrown at the bottom. This makes it so any relevant information and channels are easy to find. Many communities don't do that, sadly. Also the friendly nature of it makes it easy to go talk to anyone you see. Some communities are filled with people who might be way too threatened by other users to talk to you.
TL:DR Please don't have 100+ channels in your discord, it makes it hard to read and people like me can't be bothered to check them all out.
This needs a resteem👍.Exactly whats on my mind too.

i think the biggest problem i have with discord channels is that they aren't alphabetically arranged. It's infuriating lol

That would be good too, but sometimes would break the order of the channels
