MSP Waves Radio : Pennsif on Air with Globocop : 1969 : To the Moon and Mallorca

in mspwaves •  7 years ago

We have reached the end of the 1960's in the Sixties Saturdays shows on MSP Waves Radio.

I will be on the airwaves of MSP Waves Radio again this Saturday evening co-hosting with @globocop on his Frequency Waves 432Hz show.

The Frequency Waves 432Hz show is currently running a series focusing each week on the events, music and news of one year of the 1960s.

This week the spotlight will be on 1969 - the year humankind made it to the moon.

Or did we 😉

1969 was the year of space.

I had my bedroom redecorated with space travel wallpaper. My middle sister got a spacehopper that I shot with my bow and arrow.

Hawker Siddley 'Jump Jets' took off vertically like something from a sci-fi movie. Concorde made its maiden flight.

And of course, Apollo 11 took mankind to the moon for the first time.

For my family it was a time of some growing prosperity. My father had established his own garage.

We were making the move from working class to aspiring lower middle class.

To cement our position on the next step of the British social ladder we ventured overseas for our first holiday abroad in Mallorca, one of the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean.

That holiday was captured by my father on his Standard 8 cine camera.

This movie is released in its original format without any soundtrack.

I will be narrating the movie live on the show (in two parts).

If you don't catch the movie on the radio show it is also be available on DTube :

The Frequency Waves 432Hz show will be on MSP Waves Radio on Saturday from 9pm to 12midnight UTC.

You can listen to the show via the PAL Discord server, via mspwaves.com or on Twitch at twitch.tv/mspwaves.
