My new MTG standard deck for Arena

Happy Friday Steemit!

Amongst the things that I've been doing during my Fergus retrograde, is playing a bunch of Magic:Arena.

It's a free download, and I have a computer that runs the game slowly, but it still runs.

I really like the computer version of Magic, because my card collection doesn't end up all over my floor...

Standard rotation took my Golgari creatures deck away from me, but I've replaces it with a mono-red aggro deck of doom.

My deck is built around Torbran of the Red Fell.

He is so badass!
If I can keep him on the battlefield, all of my red spells and creatures do 2 additional damage whenever they hit.
It's so brutal!

Here is my decklist.

The Bonecrusher Giant in the picture is a great card that gives a 2 damage spell and a big creature in the same card!
I try to play this early to fish out any removal spells before Torbran comes out.

The bread and butter of this deck are direct damage spells.

Slaying fire is my favorite at instant speed doing 4 damage to any target. If Torbran is out, this does 6 to the face!
I also have Shock and Skewer the Critics that can both be played for one red mana.

Many decks are running a bunch of 1/1 creatures, and for them I have the Dagger Caster.

He's so good in this deck as a boardwipe when used with Torbran, since he would then do 3 to the face and 3 damage to each creature.
The damage to the player also enables me to play Skewer the Critics for one mana.

My favorite card to use in this deck is Risk Factor.

Without Torbran, this is an amazing 4 to the face or draw 3 cards choice for the opponent.
Nobody ever lets me draw the cards... unless Torbran is out, in which case it's 6 direct damage unless they let me draw 3 cards!
Soooo many people quit after the 3rd Risk Factor:D.

Driving my mana train, is one of the best cards I've ever seen for a red deck, the Runaway Steam Kin.

It's great as an early attacker, and it accrues 1/1 counters that can be converted to mana.
If I have more than one of them out, it's almost like cheating.

As an ultimate weapon, I have one copy of Drakuseth.

Truly, about 50% of the opponents will quit when I cast it.
Drakuseth can kill 2 creatures and do damage to the face before I even attack with him.
I'm glad Drakuseth is on my side...

My greatest weakness is the inability to destroy enchantments, so I added one copy of Ugin.

Ugin can destroy any type of colored permanent, which is handy when people use prison enchantments against my beloved Torbran.
He also creates 2/2 creatures out of my library, and the cards go to my hand when they die.
Super sweet.

After a bit of a slump, I have finally been winning, and I am now up to Platinum rank.

Peace and long life, Steemit.
Maybe we will face each other in the Magic Arena!
