Current Population of India in 2017 is 1.34 billion (134 crores).

Mumbai, the financial capital of india is the most populous city in India with an estimated city population of 18.4 million. Along with the neighbouring regions of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, it is second most populous metropolitan area in India, with a population of approx. 21.3 million.

Urbanization means the population shift from rural to urban areas. The process by which towns and cities are formed and become larger as more people begin living and working in central areas, or in the suburbs.

Mumbai has most of the high-rise buildings in India, since land in the city is expensive. As per Wikipedia, Mumbai had 11th highest number of skyscrapers in the world. Most skyscrapers in Mumbai are residential.

Mumbai curtently undergoing huge construction activities, with hundreds of skyscrapers and thousands of high-rises under construction, construction of Metro Lines etc.

I visited SGNP, which is around 40-45 km from city center, and there is forest/jungle.

Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP), encompasses an area of 104 km2 (40 sq mi) and is surrounded on three sides by India's most populous city.

I had a chance to take few photos of the surroundings, and you will see few buildings are in construction stage just behind SGNP. (effect of urbanisation).
