Wishing you and the contestants all the best.

Thank you to @country-girl for suggesting this photograph.

Cheers.

Spiky and sharp, cool photo!

This is so funny @bleujay. I think I called it :)

Nicely done. Ice daggers! :)

Thanks for your submission!

What if you live in a cold country?
Have you ever been to Jakutsk?
Temperature: -41 Celsius degrees.

I've never been there but I lived in a freezer for the first 35 years of my life. Do you know what the freezer was called? Canada!

While I was reading your answer, I thought the refrigerator was your Manü!
But she is your guardian wife that drives your dreams.
Best wishes, R

Hey now. I live in a freezer. :) It's very nice here, sometimes. ☃️

I'm often home sick so that should tell you something! :)

What are you homesick for in particular? Tim Horton Coffee? The buzz around the lake? Friday the 13th in Dover? Want me to take a photo of somewhere for you?

there the avatar app becomes handy! :-)

hey @bleujay
i agreed with your thought and well wished to @country-girl, its nice achievement

Amazing image @bleujay. Love the contrast the sharp crystal sword has with the abstract background. 🦋

Are those rock formations behind the icicle? The background could make a photo all by itself. Very nice composition.

This is brilliant and worth a serious upvote too! ;) Thanks for sharing.

Namaste :)

Lovely photograph @oldtimer.

All the best to you.

Cheers.

Nature's graceful art, i love it!

Beautiful ice feathers!

That's pure magic!

That is beautiful!

This is beautiful. I like the feather-like ice crystals.

Here's my entry!! Hope you like it.

Blurred Lines

I like it. Very Canadiana!

Ice skating rink? Lovely lines @countrygirl. 🦋

Thank you @allyinspirit. I just saw your entry too....frosty roses :)

Oh to answer your question....yes, an outdoor skating rink - actually a bike path that gets frozen over in the winter. It's very nice. That's my husband and our granddaughter....well their reflections :)

Your granddaughter in the red. And I can just make out that they are holding hands now. Beautiful. 🦋

They are!! I wish I could show her face but I have to respect privacy boundaries. She is angelic and lovely and has an open heart.

Lovely entry........ @countrygirl.

All the best.

Cheers.

Thank you @bleujay. Cheers back at you :)

This made me smile. I hope you had fun at the ice rink!

Thank you so much @hollyup. We did.

it is the contrast from the vagueness of the shades of the persons at the ice with the memory of the sharpness of the blades of skates, that makes this so special, I like it.

So delicate. They look like they would melt before your eyes Neli. 🦋

Thank you Ali! Your frozen roses are fantastic!

That’s a beauty!

Thank you very much! :-)

Gorgeous!

I can't wait to see all the entries! This is a super idea!

Have a wonderful day :)

Wow, this is so amazing!

That's a beauty!

Absolutely amazing :)

This is not mundane at all... ha ha!

There's nothing mundane about this - how gorgeous!

It’s not mundane but I had to share :)

Oh my ....my butt is freezing just looking at this throne ... =))

Brrrr! Great picture!

COOL contest :D

Extremely cool!

Thanks for the lovely submission!

Truly beautiful. Must have been a most beautiful sight. 🦋

Thanks... yes .... snow shoeing along the river - had to almost lay in the snow to get this photo.

This is beautiful.

Thanks.

Thanks for this.

This one actually made me want to reach for an extra blanket. That photo says winter for sure.

The air looks sooooooooooo cold. Great photo.

Thank you for the opportunity to participate, @kus-knee. My Steemit account was just approved about 2 hours ago, and I was hoping I wouldn't miss the deadline to participate.

This photo is my ice cube tray in my refrigerator. I like how the ice has partially melted into organic shapes, and the plastic window looks like the water level. This reminds me of icebergs, but without the underwater camera.

mundane-art-ice.JPG

This is very good @hollyup. You're right it looks like icebergs.

Thanks, @countrygirl! I like your pictures, too.

Thanks so much for sending this in and welcome to Steemit!

Thank you! I like this contest, if you do another one I'll probably enter that, too!

I have already used this photo in a post but it fits perfectly with this contest so will post it here on it's own. Hope that's OK.
Please let me know if it isn't. 😊

Very cool image...

Thank you!

Yes it’s OK. Very nice!

Thank you @kus-knee : ) Have a good week!

Very original!

Thank you! That's means a lot coming from you... with all the images you see every week!

I want these!!!

They are sweet! I don't know there name but hard to look good even when frozen - lol!

Such a striking image @realworldeats. Love the colouring of the desert with the ice of the mountains. 🦋

Thank you @allyinspirit! I appreciate the comments. I will post more from this road trip. One image in each of the different zones - desert to mountains and back : ) like traveling to different countries all in one state!

Here is an icey creek I shot yesterday during a hike in the woods.

Thanks. Some really awesome photos on this feed!

Sleet.....very creative! I like this photo - it's very emotional.

Thanks. Its a statue of the same young man, one smiling as a student, and then as a soldier. The sleet seemed to fit the mood.

Definitely, I can see why. A very sobering statement.

What a great shot - love this!

Thanks

I LIKE it!

Thank you for the contest ideas!

One of a kind creative image @ohicklin. 🦋

Thanks a lot.

these skeletonized leaves are so delicate.....nice shot.

Very interesting shot!

wow, what a lovely photo, nice capture!

So delicate, enhanced by the colours. Like a beautiful piece of jewelry. 🦋

Hello dear friend @ kus-knee, you always surprise us with incredible challenges, I love the thread and the snow, I'll see what I can get, Corrientes is a city that is very hot, I will have to resort to my son Ivan who lives in the south of country that help me with some photographs, to be able to accompany this magnificent challenge.
I hope you've had a wonderful weekend

You can also use ice cubes!

surprise us with incredible challenges,

Thank you @kus-knee for making this challenge. I want to participate in it with this photo I made four years ago when we have severe ice problems in our country.

DSCN2538.JPG

Hope you'll like it! Have a nice rest of the day!

oh that poor tree....I hope it made it to springtime. So heavy with ice.

You won't believe, but it really is survived. At least this one...

Thanks so much!

Amazing entry, Melinda! Good luck for the contest! :)

beautiful @melinda010100, love the light glow on the strands.

Thanks, Claudia! I'm so glad you like it!

Thanks for this!

Love the idea of these contests ! Here are some icebergs floating off Alaska that I shot while sailing there last year.

Thanks !

stunning!!! After I saw fox glacier and mount cook, I would so love to visit this ! wow

Thanks. Its quite special to see floating icebergs.

yes that must be! Although I found the glaciers also spectacular, but they do not float :-)

Fabulous!

The reflections are so strong as well. Beautifully photographed. 🦋

Here is my entry:

frozen roses, it could be the start of a poem :-)

I like the icy colors!

Love how the ice crystals form around the edges of the petals. Lovely contrasting background too. 🦋

So beautiful and fragile.

Thank you for sponsoring this contest @kus-knee! I couldn't resist entering a little bit of ice, ice, baby!

Here is my submission. I hope you like it! Icy Evergreens!

Fabulous!

Thank you!!

Love the abstract soft forms Denise. Can sense the ice melting and the gentle ephemeral nature of it all. 🦋

What a beautiful entry, Denise! Good luck for the contest! :)

wow! nice!

Very beautiful!

Magical crystals with beautiful lines. Lovely abstractions by nature. 🦋

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

I love the photo, especially your shades but where’s the ice?

Oh, I have a lot of pictures with ice. It was very difficult for me to choose one of them)

z_f1a1b4ca.jpg

This is so beautiful, I don't know what to say. I did one of those silent wows. !!

Oh, thank you very much! It's very nice to hear from you!

Gorgeous! Spiky ice thorns that melt once you touch them. Love how nature creates something which looks dangerous to touch but is, in truth, so fragile, harmless and ephemeral.

This is the most beautiful comment I've ever received!

Haha! Really?!? Well its well-deserved. Lovely shot.

You made a good choice.

Thank you, I'm glad that you think so!

You are so lucky to live in a place where there must be so much ice beauty @tanata. Imagine seeing a time lapse of these crystals forming. Such wonders of nature. 🦋

You're right, it's awesome! I'm not a fan of cold, but I like to take photos of such beautiful creations of nature

I participated in 2 rounds (sand and moss) and and didn´t get an upvote in none of them, that´s sad :(

here is one, taken today, of the winter :) :) not going into contest, just showing the scenery out here

Hey friend, I really do try to get around to everyone but it's not always possible.

Well, I guess that´s true. I´ll try again with ice cubes haha thanks for your quick answer!

@kus-knee Thank you for this opportunity. This post upvoted and resteemed!

This is my post. It is mint juleps because ice is the magic ingredient.

Thanks!

My Entry 4U @kus-knee :-)

I see so many other amazing ice art photos here!!
What a great contest 👍

I hope you will all go and look at what she made and did with this image, I copied and pasted my remark from her post page below. She took that mundane image and made quite a few masterpieces out of it. Trust me when I say you will not be disappointed. And @kus-knee she should have picked that second image, I think when you see it you will agree.

Those are absolutely stunning. It's like I'm looking at a fractalized kaleidoscopic image. That picture led to some gorgeous imagery. That second one just fricken amazing. It is somewhat of a mind blown away type picture. You should have picked the second one for the contest. I think he allows manipulation, but not sure, either way that was some fantastic image manipulation. Extremely well done.

Thanks a lot!

Another very nice entry!

stunning photo @pipurilla, so dainty looking!

Thanks a lot, Claudia! 😃

Your photograph is SO special Patrick. So magical. Are these actually natural formations? 🦋

Thank you so very much, Alison!
Yes, it's natural and guess that no mans hand coud form this. It is only about 1cm high. The hole lake surface was full of these little wonders. I took so many photos of them and believe me, it was not easy to chose one for this contest.
Guess its the wind and the freezing mist building this.

An excellent idea @kus-knee!
I have an archive of 149 gigabytes of my own photos, in which there is snow, but there is not one icicle or ice))) Haha!
DSC_0893.jpg
I have a week to fix the situation! need to hurry;)))
DSC_0910.jpg

There's got to be some ice somewhere!

Unfortunately, so little snow and ice this winter in Serbia.
Here's my entry:
LED S 3.jpg

Cool!

Unfortunately? You must be one of those that love the outdoor winter. We have had a warmer than normal, until this last week, winter here in the part of alaska we live in, and it's still to cold. ;-}. But we are able to get some pretty cool camera shots being in these cold places. Frozen stump or a rock? Pretty cool how our northern mosses survive a lot of different weather.

That's very nice @zoricatech. We must have gotten all of your snow and ice!! Another stormy day here in Canada.!

I love the abstraction quality in many of your images @zoricatech. And this one could be the inspiration for a magical movie set. 🦋

IMG_8086 (2).JPG

Nice to see you are having another gallery event
Here is my humble contribution, I hope everybody is having some fun.

Greetings from Japan

Oh great! Japanese ice!!!! Beautiful!

Looks almost like an ice form of mandrake root, or the bottom half of a frozen walker on game of thrones show. I like it.

I just googled mandrake root and I need to agree. Pretty similar huh

Yes it does look like mandrake root. Cool.

Wonderful overall image ~ Love the background as much as the ice shapes. 🦋

Hello Friend @kus-knee! This is a fascinating competition and I really love to make photos of frozen nature! Here's my post where I put up 7 beautiful photos:

Thanks so much for your entry.

Thanks a lot.

Hey @kus-knee! Thank you for picking ICE! I was among those who suggested it, but at the end i found out that it wasn't such a great idea! Why? Because i have so many good ice photos, that it was really hard to pick only one out of many.

So here is my entry:

DSC01324.jpg

And another shot of the same, just from another angle
DSC01323.jpg

You can click on the image to open it in full resolution. And you are very welcome to check my latest Mundane Art post with some more ICE photos - Post on my blog

This is an amazing shot! Water and wind working together....I don't think I have seen anything like it, very very cool.

Thank you it was first time for me as well.

Thanks so much for this interesting photo!

Winter in Sydney is so short lived. Photographers here are lucky to awaken to a foggy or frosty morning perhaps once or twice a year. And never snow. 🦋

So my entry for 'Mundane as Art: Ice' is an ice work that I made with roses and based on the 11:11 symbol.

You can read the full story at Mundane as Art: Round 10: Ice. Frozen Roses.

frozenflowers.ORIGINAL-042.jpg

What is the significance of the 11:11 symbol? I'll look it up. I like the layers of roses - some deeper entrenched in the ice than others....different stages of frozen.

The 11:11 is also called 'The Portal' ~ An opening to a new way of being.

Once you know about it your life will never be quite the same again @countrygirl. You will see it everywhere. Often as the time on your mobile or computer.

When you see it, take it as a sign that the Universe is smiling upon you and wants you to stop whatever you are doing, so that you can hear whatever she has to say to you.

I include 11:11 in some of my art pieces, in the hope that it may have a similar effect. 🦋

Hi Kus-knee, what a great idea! I'm all for it, and here is my entry:

That was quick!

mooi veerle.

Yes I wouldn’t want to miss it 😁

Mooi! winters kiekje

I saw a post made by @osm0sis with a beautiful picture of her mother's frozen roses in Burgundy. That's how I knew of your challenge.
I live in the Netherlands but also in France (half/half) It is snowing in Burgundy (where I live now). Yesterday I made a picture of my frozen strawberry plants. This is the picture. I didn't do anything with it. It is the natural look.
IMG_8450.jpg

So happy to see you participating as well @clio :)
If you make a post with this photo, add the tag #mundaneart and upvote @kus-knee's post, you'll be set!
Good luck!

Thanks for including your photo!

I can't tell what I'm looking it. Is that ice above?

Yes, the top of the ice cave, indentations from melting, freezing, and being exposed to the air.

Thank you for posting @kus-knee.

Hi Steemians, here my entry

ICE.jpg

This photo was especially for the contest because my city is very hot, but now I enjoy a rich and refreshing drink

I hope than you like it

I appreciate you taking the time to enter!

This was so difficult, too many nice ones to choose out from. I post the one where I think of, this is nice, but please read my blog, and tell me which one you all, like the most. Click on my picture to see all the icy pictures.

Very cool!

did you read or looked at the blog? There are a few pictures on there. Maybe nicer as this one. I chose this one because this realy looks like solid water and not ice. Now I know there is no solid water, but when there was it was like this. :-)

I haven't looked a it yet but it would be good to put a link to it in your submission.

jamie when you click on the picture you get automaticly To my blog. am I mummy or mummie ? :-)

:-)

Does the picture not do it on your pc? I made the link to my blog? Now my pictures do not get bigger so it would be possible that that hyperlink does not work either, but I do think it works. When you still find a minute? Enjoy your day kus-knee :-)

OK saw it now. Thanks!

nice mum.

This is my entry @kus-knee. I live in a hot country, specifically in Venezuela where it only snows in a small region more than 13,000 ft. high and only in August. This was the first time I saw snow in my life, when I went camping. Thanks for reading!

Thanks for entering!

Good stuff!

I've been holding off a bit on this one in expectation of just a little bit of cold weather, but it looks like I will have to either resort to one of my very old photos... OR I will have to scrape some frost from the freezer!

But thanks, as always, for these great engagement challenges.

Did you end up sending one in?

Here's my submission for this round!

Thank you for creating this contest. :-)

Hello, @kus-knee! Something I was so loaded that I almost missed your next contest! I started looking for ice, frost, or something like that, but in our country it was like a thaw and it all melted ((I found this ice on the roof and the ground with great difficulty, but I did it because I really wanted to participate) ). Thank you for the good competitions and galleries! Good luck and patience to you!

Very good, thanks!

I'm glad you liked it! :)

First off I give you the UPVOTE No 100. So this is 1st time I did on your any posts.
Dear friend @kus-knee (The Old Dog) I always appreciate you for conducting such a healthy contests over here. These type of contests require lot of time and hard work. And this is only possible when you're loyal towards your organisation. So you proved several time that you're one of those people who really want positivity on this platform specially for common people.
Carry on your excellent work and Stay Blessed @kus-knee!

Thanks a lot. Yes, lots of work but fun and interesting work!

I thought that thumbnail looked familiar LOL! Thanks so much for the mention Old Dog, and especially for taking the time to host all the contests that you do. You are a great Steemer, Sir!

BTW I also did a post to promote this to my folks:

I remember this!! The apparatus (apparati??) and green background technique you vlogged. That is such a great icicle sample.

This is an icy little devil, isn't it? A delightful little spike of coldness. I love to play with water. It has so many things you can do with it

Tip The thought was there, but, I ran out of money, honey! :) LOL

Thanks for this!

Let's Succeed Together!**

It's fun to do these things together!

that is gonna be so hard! :-) I have been to fox glacier and have like 100 pics from there. Is it oke that I use my possibly winner as a tag to an article I still want to write about it with more pictures? When you find that confusing, i will only send in one picture, and keep my blog seperate?

Yes that is the right way to do it.

What about a country that does not have ice @kus-knee My country has only two seasons, the dry season and the rainy season. Is it possible to take a picture of ice in the refrigerator..

If you look at the instructions ice cubes are OK as well as frost in the freezer etc.l.
