Door Knob • Mundane Art

DoorKnob.jpg

Here is brass door knob that looks like it had a run in with a blunt object. Whatever the motive, it appears the door knob took the lickin' and kept on tickin'. I have to wonder if currently manufactured door knobs would be able to withstand such an attack? I guess the landlord is not so sure either because he kept the door knob and it still functions... dimples and all!

I photographed the door knob Friday morning with my Canon 5D camera and 70-200 mm lens.

Looks like someone might have shot at it with a gun multiple times...

Or a hammer!

Yes effectively; no door or lock of modern multilock type would even resist such a fracture and still keep functioning.

True!

just see the image! the span and strength of said door is appreciated; and said then, nothing like the fabrications of yesteryear.

They don't make 'em like they used to.

We all agree with the owner of the door, as the products of the past do not exist, even with the wear and damage is still safe and reliable.

It does seem reliable!
