@stellabelle - Seems that the museum is really full of unusual things related and also unrelated to natural history. I was curious about the decaying dice and followed the link you had posted to review information on them. I was surprised to find that dice are made of cellulose nitrate and, after being stable for many decades, suddenly start to crumble. I also was amused to read that the states of decay of the dice was covered by the owner by hiring a photographer who specializes in photographing decaying things !!!

Thanks for pointing the way to this interesting museum.

I am continuing to focus on my beloved wildlife blogs (with my original photos and content). I have posted one about Brave-heart lion cubs -
Lions in the making - A cub's story. I request you to take a look when you have time. Your comments would be eagerly awaited. Thanks.

glad you found the decaying dice as interesting as I did.

I found the original post interesting but for some reason even with all I cannot unsee from the internet I am surprised there is a photographer that specializes in taking pictures of decaying things.

Those microminiatures are amazing. Does the museum have a way to view the actual sculptures (through a microscope or something) or is everything only viewable in photos?

Resteeming this to 11,000+ followers.

yes, you view the microminiatures through a microscope, and the same for the feather art pieces.
Actually, the only way you can see them is through microscopes. The microscopes are in a long hall, about 8-10 of them to use.

Sounds like a very trippy place...Only in cali that is for sure.

It does seem to be a pretty mysterious place! I would have a good toke before goin thats for sure, really trippy

Close to home! Never had heard of it though! Thanks for sharing!

oh you must go!!!

I think I will by the end of the month or next and I promise to post! Here we used to have the museum of death, eerily interesting, but they moved it up to San Fran a while back. Been meaning to go see it there too!
Thanks for the travel inspo!

Interesting, it's like the Ripley's Believe it or Not museum. Where they show case things of oddity - the human mind is quite the rabbit hole of imagination, sometimes frightening. I hope you are allowed to take a few pictures and can share your experience when you get back.

Such a tragic ending for Madelena. After reading about her short term memory trouble, which many thought lent to the sorrowful inflection of her singing voice, I did a search for some of her work.

Bupkis...that's what I found. Not even the Old Codger on WFMU had anything in his archives. I'm stumped.

Perhaps you might find a source while visiting the museum...if you think about it. It's now become one of those...unfinished thoughts in my curious mind. Not often do I come up wanting from my searches...so here I am asking you to help ease my mind on this one thing. Oh, I suppose I could listen to Marlene Dietrich, but somehow I don't think Where Have All The Flowers Gone is going to scratch this itch.

~smiles~ of course you don't have to do anything you don't want to. Enjoy your visit. It sounds like one of those places one might put on their bucket list.

~be~

Love to visit someday....!!! :-)

Wow! Didn't even know those existed. Thought you were joking with us... Amazing what humans can actually accomplish 😳
Thanks for sharing...

Nice post. I am also curious about this museum. Thank you.

This place looks absolutely spectacular.
The different way in how art is made is psychedelic and astonishing.
The reviews look great although some people don't seem to be impressed with how absurd and uncanny it is.
Hopefully one day I can go there and see this place with my own eyes as well.

It will blow your mind. I spent over 4 hours in there, and I felt my mind altered significantly afterwards.
This museum felt made for me especially.

A very unique museum. Did not realize that there are so many types of museum. If i recall correctly there is a condom museum in Bacelorna.

very interesting @stellabelle

muy buen pos, gracias por compartir

Intersante tu post, me encantaria visitar ese museo.

Hey @stellabelle so cool. I don't like going to Kansas anymore..we lived there for a few years. Long story.... maybe sometimes we can talk at a steemit or I will do a post .. lol. Kansas's state motto: Per aspera ad astra is a Latin phrase meaning "through hardships to the stars" ... well we sure had hardships there.. we met at the meetup you had in Kansas city.. you met my husband Mike and dog Max.. mike finally has an account.. He is planning on getting his intro post tomorrow.. :) I would like the museum in LA

Well, Kansas does suck on many levels, true.

LOL so you know .. many people tell me that too

Hello, it is possible to see a sculpture inside the eye of a needle?
Have you taken a picture of this?
