The salacious headline here is about Janet Yellen consuming magic mushrooms in China, with the catch being that of course they were cooked and therefore the psilocybin was inactivated/destroyed.
But the real tragedy here is that what she ate is a common dish in the region. Meaning that every day, across Yunnan province, perfectly trippable mushrooms are senselessly destroyed.
No wonder China is still not free. And no wonder we are, and will continue to, outcompete them. Because we use our natural resources to listen to concerts at Red Rocks and go to weekend eclipse festivals, instead of destroying them.
