More important than knowing which mushrooms are edible is knowing which ones are poisonous. This is a mushroom called Galerina Marginata. Here is a link to the identification info. http://www.mushroomexpert.com/galerina_marginata.html
These grow on very rotten logs. They were growing right beside some honey mushrooms which are edible and are a similar color. Sometimes Identification is tricky.

Here is a picture of the honey mushrooms. They are from the genus Armillaria. http://www.mushroomexpert.com/armillaria.html They grow on rotting wood and are sometimes parasitic.
