It is interesting the difference between vacuum tubes and transistors.
In the second box, you see two rows of transistors with a huge heat sink to handle the power that the two vacuum tubes (probably easily) in the set above handles. Not to mention the very different amplification/sound characteristics, although many electrical engineers say that there is no difference.

oil filled caps... Wonderfully sturdy. Gigantic. Oh my back.
I wouldn't use such in anything I design accept stuff like Tesla coils.

Yeah, that linear amp is heavy! I wouldn't want to drag anything that around with me for doing live music unless I had a dolly for moving the stuff. Those oil filled caps would probably be really nice to use in a hi-fi stereo tube amp.
I did have one amp that was heavier than these amps, an Ampeg SVT head from the late 1960s or early 70s. I think that thing weighed about 80 pounds or so, it had 2 massive transformers in it for the power supply and the output. That thing was just stupidly heavy.

There you go again, makin' shit work...like a boss!

Thanks! :-)

Nice one Amber :) Enjoyed reading that.
They look blaady lovely.
Do you post videos reviewing the sound?

Yes, I do if I'm working on a guitar amp. Those power amps get so loud, they would swamp the mic in the camera. :-)
I do have a couple of guitar amp demo video posts that I did a while back.
