Hello everyone, Andrew here. It's been a very long time since I've posted anything here on steemit and I apologize for that. I'm coming back stronger and more creative than ever. And for my first post as comeback I decided to do a track review of one of my favorite songs that I discovered last year.

From now on, I'm only going to focus on making reviews and articles related to music since I think that it is a feature that is missing on steemit. So, here we go.

Frank Ocean's track Nikes is a 5:14 min song that goes through the theme of being stuck in a life where the most important things are those that are material only, therefore giving the song the name "Nikes", which we all know to be a trademark of high standard when it comes to the sports industry and the shoe industry as well.

We all know about Nike some way or another. Either by their intensive and very heavy marketing of their motto: "Just do it.", to their very high quality designs for sportswear or by all of the sponsored athletes they promote as well. Nike is seen to the consumer's eyes as a high standard thanks to their prices, there's no way to deny that, and it has become an object so desired so that we can be like Michael, Cristiano, or Serena, and being like them is of no ease.

Frank Ocean takes on this and makes us reflect or at least be aware of the situation in our current society where we praise those who wear Gucci, Nike shoes, have a Rolex, and drive a Lamborghini than those who fight for justice, care about our economic situation, and fight for our rights to remain free to say the least. We've fallen into a materialistic society and Frank spills that into our faces within the first couple of lines.

This idea of being praised for what you wear can also take us to buy knock-offs since we cannot afford to pay such a high and expensive piece of brand without feeling real, and at the same time trying to show everybody that we are indeed real and that we can flex and wear one of the highest brands and that we are like Michael and that we can fly, just like another dozen million people who wear the same type of shoes.

Frank Ocean talks us into this with some “btches”. I personally think that he is actually referring to us, not some real btches.

I personally think that this is one of Frank Ocean’s best songs. The chord progression and beat fall very hard into the back of your head when you listen to it, it is in the best tempo for it to fall that hard and echo into the back of our heads, and the fact that the voice was squirrel pitched kind of takes your attention into the song.

I personally think that this song is a 10/10, it has an almost if not already perfect production and lets you know what Frank wants to say without you having to break your head into pieces. A true artistic masterpiece.
