ADSactly Music Initiative #12

Hello you amazing Steemians and Steem musos, early somewhere last week I got a DM from the artist who we featured in our previous Music Initiative post, the lovely @D-Vine.
She invited me to be a guest on her show Spotlight On The Artist which is on the P.A.L Discord server every Friday, and of which I'm really sorry to say I had no idea existed. This is just another great example of why I love the Steem community, you get to discover new and exciting things on an almost daily basis, as well as some of the most amazing people.

Last Friday I got to share some insight of how we came up with this ADSactly Music Initiative, and also did some shameless promotion of my own band on the Spotlight On The Artist show. The show is a music based show that promotes Musicians, Songwriters, Producers and Music based projects on the Steemit Blockchain. Hosted by @d-vine, @onemedia & @darrenclaxton, who give 5 guests the opportunity to have their track played or chat about their music project. If you are a musician on the blockchain I implore you to tune in and show some support, I for one will definitly be popping in regularly. I had such a fun time and would just like to extent my thanks again to the hosts, you guys rock!

Introduction

We got together and decided we wanted to do something in the music space, as there are so many budding, talented musicians on the Steemit platform. We noticed that, although there were a lot of people posting, it felt like some of the contributors could use a little helping hand. I mean, who wouldn't want a little helping hand, right?
So where could WE add value? We could use our own in-house production people to help develop music for fellow Steemians looking for that little extra audio assistance.

We'll be running an initiative whereby Steemians can post their links below, and if the criteria are met (please read the criteria), we'll dig in with them and help mix their track, or add some instruments that they feel are missing from their song, or some little production techniques. If there isn't actually a post that our producer can work with, we might even just decide to give one of the entrants a bit of upvote love.

As time goes by and we put together enough collaborated content, we will then upload this content to digital stores (iTunes, Spotify, Deezer, etc.) and release a compilation album.
The other avenue where we would like to add value is to sync the music to commercials to try and develop some additional passive income for the artists.
Where will this go?
....Only time will tell!

How does it work?

  • Comment below with your Steemit post, DSound link or Soundcloud link (or another platform that you would prefer to use). Must be within 7 days of this post.
  • Upvote this post
  • Join the ADSactly Discord Community
  • Please try make sure you have independent audio files that we could actually work with in production
  • @ADSactly picks a winner (Please check back in the comments for this)
  • The winner receives a consultation over discord to discuss the direction moving forward on the track.
  • Our in-house producer does the work, sends it back to the winner, and they upload it to DSound with a guaranteed upvote from @ADSactly
  • We'll report back with the results in the following post so you, our followers, can keep track.

Disclaimer: Sometimes it might the case that out of all the entries, there isn't a post that can be worked with effectively; whether its due to a winner not getting back to us, or there being insufficient or inferior audio separates to work with. In this case we'll pick a song or track to show some love to.

Our Previous Winner

We’ve decided that we would like to give some upvote love to @wav-dr

In our quest to bring exceptional music from all over the Steem blockchain, we came across this amazing track from @wav-dr featuring Bonnie Legion @soundlegion. This was all thanks to @d-vine, @onemedia and @darrenclaxton who have a epic music show called Spotlight On The Artist on the P.A.L Discord server very Friday between 06:00 pm - 08:00 pm UTC. The song Afraid Of The Dark was created by @wav-dr who wrote the music and Mastered the song while Bonnie wrote the Lyrics, Vocals, Video and Graphic Design. This collaboration was created and produced from start to finish in the record time of three days, which is just unbelievable. Well done to you guys.
If you would like to check out the original post from @wav-dr you can here.

Please be sure to join our discord server and look out for the adsactly_music_initiative channel, where you can drop your music link as well as chat to us and others about all things music. We look forward to seeing some amazing new music tracks and projects, as well as meeting all the musicians who have come to Steem.

I love this project you guys are working on! In steemit you can really find talent by the box. This piece is great! it electrified me at this hour! hahahaha. I'm full of energy. I like the mixture of electronic music with rock, the subtle voices and although it's a piece that talks about the fear of darkness, I think listening to it made my morning happy. I don't know about you, but it made me listen to it at full volume! I congratulate them for the work they are doing and especially @wav-dr for that talent! Finally, in the face of so much darkness these days:
Can you leave the lights on?

This musical initiative is magnificent because it contributes to giving visibility to so many talents that come to life in Steemit and are little recognized. May this project take deep roots and last in time. I wish you every success. Greetings, @rossdabone and @morkrock. Thanks to @adsactly for sharing good news.

Yea buddy! I was on that show you were on when you were talking about adsactly and will be sharing a few tracks with you once I get back from the day job.

It seems like you are aiming for "works in progress" here for feedback or is it the final mixdown or masters? Just wasn't sure what to submit as I have a self release coming up on 20th December and all tracks are finished in my eyes, but have loads of unmastered ones - what is OK to submit? 🙂

It seems to me a very commendable and necessary initiative that is being promoted, @RossDabone and @MorkRock. I think that the independent musical creation that is taking its first steps deserves as much support as possible. I heard and saw the video of @wav-dr. It is a good piece of music based on instrumental voices and rhythm, and the video a creative and suggestive realization, in tune with the theme of the musical work. Good luck in the project! Thanks to @adsactly for promoting it.

Congratz to @d-vine, she is a dope human being and hell of a talented producer!!!
Cheers!

we love @adsactly everyday

Awesome initiative! Here is my entry for your listening pleasure. Sorry for the cheezy drum sample. ;)

Really cool initiative. I don't know how I didn't see this earlier. I started Open Mic on Steemit. @soundlegion is one of the judges and I love her music. @d-vine also had me on her show.

You have a new follower now!

Perhaps you'de be interested in doing some cross promotion. Open Mic has a lot of musicians entering as we're now in our 114th week. Let me know if you're interested and keep up the great work.
