The phrygian scale is a minor scale which starts on E with no sharps or flats.
EFGABCDE
I, ii, iii,IV, V, vi, vii
It diverges from the "normal aeolian" minor scale with that flat second.
This adds passion to the mode as going to the second creates desire to move.

Famous songs include surfer girl by Beach boys and pyramid song by Radiohead.
