Sir Elton John (Reginald Kenneth Dwight), born in Pinner, England, on March 25, 1947, is recognized as one of the best artists of all time selling more than 300 million records worldwide, also, along with Billy Joel, is considered one of the most fine pianists of rock and pop. He is the only artist to have kept at least 1 song in Billboard's Hot 100 top for 31 consecutive years (1970-2000). He was inducted into the Hall of Fame of Rock and Composers in 1994 and in 1996 he was named Knight (Sir) by the Queen Elizabeth II.
