One of my hobbies is building and repairing tube amplifiers. Most of what I do is either guitar or bass amplifiers. A friend of mine brought this amp to me for repair.

This is a 1960 Ampeg B-15 Portaflex amp and cabinet. The amp has a tube rectifier, a pair of 6L6GC power tubes, and 6SL7 preamp tubes. It puts out somewhere around 40-45 watts, not too shabby!
The only problem with the amp was that the power switch was bad, a pretty simple fix once I found the right part for it.
This amp sounds really good with a bass guitar plugged into it!

Awesome I love the old ampegs, I have a 66 reverberocket2 that has been a great amp.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of old tube amps. Back when I was actively playing in the taverns, I had a Fender Bassman 100 head that I used with whatever cabinet seemed appropriate for the size of the place. It got plenty loud enough for the places around here.

Those old fenders sound pretty damn good
