Commemorating the song We Are the World

in music •  7 years ago

Hello steemit community! As I mentioned one of my passions is the music especially the retro, on this occasion I want to talk about the theme "We Are the World" which was recorded on January 28 of the year 1985 and published on March 7 of the same year , under the label of Columbia Records. Written by pop king Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie, produced by Quincy Jones, it also had the participation of a large group of famous musicians, including Ray Charles, Diana Ross, Paul Simon, Michael Jackson, Huey Lewis, Lionel Richie, Tina Turner, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, Cyndi Lauper, Steve Perry, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, among others. United for the occasion that is called USA for Africa (United Support of Artists for Africa). The collection obtained by the song was directed to a humanitarian campaign with the aim of ending the famine that Ethiopia was going through in those days.

We are the world was the anthem of the historic and unforgettable concert "Live Aid" of the USA. performed simultaneously with the concert of "Live Aid" London England (of which I will speak on another occasion), on July 13, 1985, also with the purpose of raising funds for the population of Ethiopia.
