This is the story of a performance ARAMUS gave in February 2015. Before starting we were quite nervous, both because our ladies were dressed like witches...
...and because singing outdoor, especially with cold weather, is quite risky.
We the men were dressed like monks (I forgot to say that it was a Carnival concert), wondering why we were doing this! Well, because we were going to sing in a beautiful location: Piazza San Lorenzo in Lucina, in the heart of Rome.
Before the concert we discovered that every lady can easily become a scary witch, but to be fair, middle-aged men make pretty dreadful monks...
Luckily we also had lots of young dancers to make it a bit livelier…
As you might have guessed, the concert's theme was the "Dance of Death", an artistic genre of late-medieval allegory on the universality of death (good definition from Wikipedia...).
The performance started with a procession of monks and witches coming out of the church while singing. We then sang in the square in front of the church. Attendance was quite good, and in the end everybody was dancing…
In the video below we are singing “O Fortuna”, from Carmina Burana.
All in all, it turned out to be a very good concert and people really enjoyed the show.
