The fire in Monchique continues and has already spread to Silves. The population is angry because they have been forced to leave their homes by the police force. The firefighters stayed five hours without fighting the fire for lack of superior orders. A total confusion and many unanswered questions. The Portuguese government members make excuses and only say that there are no deaths. Private companies will continue to profit at the expense of dead and burned animals and lost assets of a poor population struggling to survive. It's up to us to pray for some rain and join forces to fight for our rights when the time comes. Until when will we leave our future in the hands of the irresponsible few who live at the expense of public goods?
