Droid - Terrestrial Mutations

Droid is a Canadian progressive thrash/speed metal band formed in 2012. in Brampton/Mississauga, Ontario. The band's current lineup consists of Jacob Montgomery (Vocals/Guitars), Chris Riley (Bass) and Sebastian Alcamo (Drums).

Terrestrial Mutations is their debut album released on April 28th, 2017., via Nightbreaker Productions.

Droid is progressive thrash metal band very similar to Voivod and Vektor. If you like those two, you are going to like this album for sure. The band is slower than Vektor, but, they make up for it with longer and progressive, beautifully constructed riffs and melodic sections. This approach works very well. It makes the songs more diversified, and allows us to become one with the spherical soundscapes that this band creates with it's music.
It should be no surprise that in the years following Vektor’s popularity, there has been a major resurgence of technical thrash metal, and “Terrestrial Mutations” stands out as a top-tier technical thrash metal release for 2017.
