a ode to Haley Heynerickx

Haley Heynderickx

Her acoustic guitar and almost-cracking voice cut straight to that part of you that is more sentimental that you would like to admit. "The Bug Collector" is the song that I usually send people to. Here is an acoustic version, before her NPR tiny desk concert.

Honestly, though, I think the best way to experience the album is hiking or running alone through dense woods on a cold and rainy day. Her album "I Need to Start a Garden" is what I usually go for, and this is the song that starts it off.

One of her songs with an undyingly persistent melody and amazing lyrical message (which is often one of people's favourites) is "Oom Sha La La".

From here, check out the album "I Need to Start a Garden", her earlier EP "Fish Eyes", or her EP with Max Garcia Conover "Among Horses III". Also the NPR Tiny Desk Concert
