They don't make music like they use to. Nowdays every Tom, Dick and Harry can be a musician, and all it takes is a mere download of the latest producing, mastering and recording software available online, A home Pc, a condenser microphone and you are well on your way to becoming a one hit, superstar, wonder . This has, unfortunatelly, saturated the market and since music has become big business, everyone is playing a game of chances but no one is willing to put in the work necessary to make real timeless music.
There used to be a time when musicians were highly regarded and would be given the utmost respect for their creativity. Artists like Miles Davis, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, The Beetles, Nirvana, Prince and many more, were the pioneers of this modern craft, which is now in the hands of capitalism and commercialism. The lifespan of a song, on average, is approximaley around two weeks, but never longer than a month. On average, over one hundred thousand albums are released by artists, worldwide, on a yearly basis and this number is rising each year, as more aspiring musicians are joining the bandwagon.
I remember a time when our elders would say how the music has changed, I was only 12, and today I am 33 and I find myself repeating the same words my grandparents use to preache, how the tables have turned.
Nothing will ever bring back the oldschool, music of today has lost its soul
