Music: New Wave Field Excursion

Dear Steemian music lovers!

On this friday night, lets take a little trip down the road of 80s New Wave.

As a offspring of Punk Rock, New Wave kept the somewhat dark mood, but expressed it in a more skilled way and with the use of more advanced technology, like synths and samplers.

A good example is the belgian band Front 242, with the track "Sample D" from their 1983 album "Endless Riddance".

Still closer to the Punk roots was the 1980 track "Militürk" from the Berlin band Fehlfarben album "Monarchie und Alltag". Not to be confused with the Neue Deutsche Welle!:

Of course also Britain had their New Wave scene. One iconic example is the band Bauhaus, that had a strong influence of what was to become Goth Rock. Here their track "The Passion of Lovers":

What would be a better example for the dark, depressive Goth Music than Anne Clark's track "Sleeper in Metropolis" from 1983:

Ok, for all who are still alive at that point, I give you more. But not just some more, here is "More" by The Sisters of Mercey - and even more "More" because its the extended version. :)

Well, enjoy and have a nice weekend!
