IJE 7# In honour of Frank Sinatra; Happy Birthday Frank Sinatra!

Hello Steemians,
It's my favourite artiste's birthday today. Frank Albert Sinatra was an American singer, producer, song writer and actor. For me, he was the best in his time. Popularly known as Frank Sinatra, he was an influential musical artist of the 20th century . Frank would have been 100 today and to celebrate and honour him in my own little way, I'll be telling you my Top five Sinatra songs of all time.

1. Strangers In The Night
   
   Recorded on April 6, 1966, This song one of my favourite beacuse of the lyrics, they are so beautiful . Based on the song "Broken Guitar" by Avo Uvezian and rewritten by Bert Kaemphert with English lyrics by Charles Singleton and Eddie Snyder. It was the title track for Sinatra’s most commercially successful album, Strangers in the Night which garnered three Grammy Awards in 1967.

2. Come Fly With Me
   
   'Come fly with me, let's fly, let's fly away
   If you can use some exotic booze, there's a bar in far Bombay
   Come fly with me, let's fly, let's fly away'

This song won my heart as a little girl. Always playing on the radio, making me a dreamer. Come fly with me was composed in 1957 by Jimmy Van Huesen and written by Sammy Cahn. It was the title track of his 1958 album. The song featured in many of Frank's performances.

3, Fly Me To The Moon

'Fly me to the moon
Let me play among the stars
Let me see what spring is like
On a, Jupiter and Mars
In other words, hold my hand
In other words, baby, kiss me'

This is my favourite Song!! This is the song, i call it 'the song' because it gives me that awesome feeling. I really can't explain it, you just know it when you listen to your favourite song, lol. The song wass originally written by Bart Howart in 1954 and called 'In Other Words'. Frank recorded the best known version on the album It Might as Well Be Swing (1964), accompanied by Count Basie. This version was arranged by Quincy Jones who changed the time signature from ¾ waltz-time to 4/4 and gave it a looser, swing feel. Sinatra also performed the song with Basie on Sinatra at the Sands (1966), and with bossa nova great Antonio Carlos Jobim on Duets II (1994).

1. Blue Moon
   
   Blue Moon is my father's song for me. He calls me his blue moon, and that's what makes this song special to me. Blue moon was originally written by Richard Rigers and Lorenz Hart in 1934 and has become a standard ballad. Frank's recording of it is my most favorite version.

2. My Way
   
   Yes, this song perfectly describes how i want my life to end. My way is considered a all time classic , it was popularised by Frank Sinatra and lyrics written by Paul Anka and set to the music of the French song "Comme d'habitude". Frank hated the song, but i loved it and still love it.
