Thanks for the interview Ben! Steemit has been incredibly helpful for me in terms creativity and energizing me to be disciplined enough to write either a song, or the backstory to one of my songs every day. It has also helped me to be more relaxed and enjoy live shows; I don't fret nearly as much about not selling enough merchandise knowing that there is some income coming from an earlier post that day. It's been wonderful.

SO happy to collaborate. More to come! ;)

Come join us at Open Mic on Steemit. This is the longest running contest on Steemit and the largest music community. Musicians around the world are earning every day.

Listened to your entry this week. Very cool. You actually made the trending page this week. Cool.

Wow, instafollow for Daniel, some excellent work, what a great video as well, thanks Ben for exposing me to something new, I'll be listening to his stuff today.

It's great how Steemit has energised music, no control from big business can let it grow more naturally, so great that people can release their own music in a positive environment like you say.

Yes I feel super inspired!

Hey Ben, this is great. I've been working with a young indie artist for a few years and we did her digital distribution through Tunecore including a zillion stores etc, and she gets a lot of play but absolutely crap revenue.

We did marginally better on Bandcamp because we could promote direct album sales but now we're going to be setting her up on Steemit and Musicoin. I put up one release on Musicoin and she gets 1 Musicoin for every play as a verified artist which based on Musicoin's current market value is only about 2c a play. However Spotify streaming income and all that nonsense only pays out something ridiculous like $0.000016 per play, so it's definitely Crypto for the win for Indie artists.

Thanks for making this video

Yes, so far so good. Lets see what the future holds but fun to be riding the cutting edge as far as solutions for now.

I think steemit is a great opportunity for musicians who can make a living out of making music, because they are not part of the big industry. On the other side there are also a lot of hobbyist musicians who think they are good enough to earn money with it, but eventually have to search for anothe source of income and keep it a hobby. That is what makes Steemit great; the audience decides what they like and is good enough from all the available music and not the industry and record shops

Seems to be a fairly level playing field

Hi Ben, I think your work is very important! You answer a lot of questions of musicians and other artists regarding Steemit. Keep on steeming!

Thank you! You too!

Hey @danieldyemusic and @benleemusic,
I want to thank you very much for sharing your experiences as musicians on steemit.
I have become a steemian just a couple of days ago and I am trying to find my way around this exciting platform and I am currently quite overwhelmed with the endless possibilities out here - yeah, you are right: It's the wild west of the internet!
You have mentioned the positive attitude here, especially in contrast to youtube and I couldn't agree more on this point. The first two things that I noticed about steemit is the quality of the posts and the friendly, helpful and positive atmosphere in the comments, the spirit of mutual support - I just love that.
I am a musician and a peace activist and I really feel that on steemit I have come home. I am so excited about what is going to happen in the future, how it will affect my work as a musician and so forth.
Thanx again guys and alle the best from Germany!

Thanks for your comment - looking forward to seeing your work!

I'd be happy to get some feedback from you guys :-) Many thx :-D
All the best!
PS: I remember you mentioning that you had trouble uploading to dTube. I feel that some browsers work better than others with dTube. Maybe try another browser.

Will check it out! yes using Opera now and dtube is all good!

Great! Glad that dTube now works for you.

What a gem to have found as a songwriter in this still small community of users. It's exciting how many facets of opportunity this can bring, from archival validity and authenticity on the internet as it all moves to blockchain virtual server processing, but also in bringing the general bar of quality of to a level that is dictated by users, all while being substantially invested in cryptocurrency without having any need for emotional attachment to hard earned fiat currency. In the constant nurture of creativity, you can always be surprised about what will inspire as well.

This is seriously enlightening. Musicians earn an income from Steemit?!!

Who woulda thought?!

I'm that friend!

:)

Awesome!

Some execellent work, thanks ben for exposing me to samething new. So great that people can release their own music. I love it.

Me too

Nice

steemit is not about writing only. we can trade our ideas with the photography and the music exactly.

true - share your gifts!

Good stuff! So interesting to hear people from opposite sides of the world talking to each other because of a website! Definitely a cool community with a lot of potential for music and art in general.

Yes I came off that call with Daniel very inspired. Great to connect with like minds!

A ti tambien mucho exito!

Appreciate this conversation about the potential of steemit and the platform's ability to connect artists with a new audience (or the same audience in a new way). The potential for an income is also pretty nice. Thanks for making this happen @benleemusic and @danieldyemusic!

Cheers
