Favorite New Band Series #1
Have you ever heard a song that you just loved from the minute you heard it. Well that happened with me and the song "Only Friend" by The Temperance Movement. I used to subscribe to the British Magazine "Classic Rock" which has a sampler disc every month. This song was on that disc about 4-5 years ago (sorry, my memory is not that great). The Temperance Movement is a blues-rock band that formed in Scotland in 2011. Original band members consisted of Phil Campbell (vocals), Nick Fyfle (bass), Paul Sayer (guitar), Luke Potashnick (guitar) and Damon Wilson (drums). The released a EP in 2012 (Pride) but their first full album was released in 2013, self titled. It was on this album that the song "Only Friend" was found. Great song for me, give a listen:

Sometimes you like a band for their guitar player or vocalist or songs, etc. Well, Phil Campbell has one of those voices that I like to listen to, raspy and whisky soaked. The rest of the band is great also.
The Temperance Movement went through some lineup changed in 2016 and 2017: Matt White replaced Luke Potashnick on guitar and Simon Lea replaced Damon Wilson on drums. They released two additional albums:
White Bear in 2016 and A Deeper Cut in 2018. I just purchased the Deeper Cut album and am listening to it now. Here are a couple of cuts I like from each:

Caught in the Middle from A Deeper Cut Album
I like the first album the best overall, with the other two good but not up to the initial reaction I had to the song that caught my ear. Give these guys a listen if you haven't heard of them before. Enjoy.
