The most interesting singer song writers

Creativity is a big part in music.  Over the years we have seen some really interesting singer songwriters.  When I say singer songwriter I am talking about a guy who can come up with the music.  I tend to like dark music and ballads so here is a list of the music that I think is the most interesting.  These are not rated in any particular order.

Hank Williams SR.  He played music that everybody knows.  One of the kings of country.  He had amazing timing and songs like Jumbalaya and Why don't you love me like you used to do will always remind me of sitting in my friends garage drinking beers and strumming away.

John Prine.  If you've ever heard John Prine you will know exactly what I mean about an interesting singer songwriter.  I believe he was a mail man and used to write songs on his mail route.  A classic of his That's the way that the World goes round is simple and brilliant at the same time.  That song has been covered by everybody.  Just an oldie but goodie.

Steve Goodman.  This guy out of all of the ones I find interesting is at the top of the list.  None of my pics are really mainstream, but this guy has been covered by everybody.  His hit would be The City of New Orleans.  If you heard him play the guitar on that song it is just brilliant.  He also had some interesting hits like talk backwards and a dying cub fans last wish.  He died an early age of Leukemia.

John Lennon.  Really much doesn't need to be said about this one everyone knows who John Lennon is.  Him and the Beatles were so interesting with songs like Jealous guy, Lucy in The Sky with Diamonds and Yellow Submarine were some of the most creative songs ever written.

Jim Morrison.  I say Jim Morrison really should say the Doors, because the creative poetry being almost talked over the instruments is pretty interesting and had such an original sound for the time

Ryan Adams.  This is the last name on the list.  Ryan has an interesting style where he plays soulful songs written by himself.  It is almost like dark country I would describe it.  I was a little hesitant putting him on the list, but he is a great talent.  I am going for interesting and not necessarily the best or most famous.
