Best records of 1967 (50 years of hippie movement)

As fifty years passed from "Summer of love" & "Hippies" to which music had big influence I make my list of best albums from that time.

Jefferson Airplane – Surrealistic Pillow
Probably their best album with songs like "Somebody To Love" and "White Rabbit". The album also features some of the easier songs like "Today" or "Comin' Back To Me" and ecstatic instrumental "Embryonic Journey".

The Velvet Underground - The Velvet Underground & Nico
Their debut album, which does not have much similarity to hippie culture. A dark album with controversial lyrical topics, such as drug abuse, prostitution, sadomasochism and sexual deviancy. The band is now recognized as one of the most influential bands in rock and alternative music.

Cream – Disraeli Gears
A perfect combination of English blues and psychedelic. On this album we can hear great vocals of Bruce, long Clapton solos on wah-wah pedal, as well as the brilliant Ginger drumming. One of the key albums for hard rock.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Axis: Bold as Love
Second Experience's album in 1967 because of the contract, which stated that they had to produce two records in that year. Album with little guitar exhibitions and more rhythmic play, still brings some memorable songs shorter form like "Wait Until Tomorrow", "Little Wing" and "Castles Made of Sand." My favorite is "Spanish Castle Magic".

The Doors – Strange Days
Released in September 1967, it was a commercial success, reaching No. 3 on the Billboard 200 album chart. More experimental than his predecessor, this album brings singles "People Are Strange" and "Love Me Two Times", as well gigantic psychedelic "When the Music's Over".
