Nowadays we are used to watch TV and cinema in HD definition, but in late 80s and early 90s was hard to see. The Rolling Stones released a film recorded during "Urban Jungle Tour" (1990). It was filmed in London, Turin and East Berlin shows. The East Berlin show was so important, as it took place just 7 months after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Rolling Stones: Live at the Max premiered in Los Angeles in October 25, 1991 at the California Museum of Science and Industry. In Europe we could see the film in some IMAX cinemas, one of them was "La Geode" in Paris.
In summer 1992 I went on vacation to Paris with my parents. When I saw that "Live at The Max" was at La Geode, I had to argue with my parents trying to convince them that it was a unique chance to see this film. La Geode wasn't near where we stayed in Paris, but the subway line was the same that passed near the hotel so I finally convinced them to let me go alone (I was then 17 years old). I haven't been to any IMAX cinema before, and from the first time I entered La Geode, I knew it would be great. I had seen the Stones one year before, at Estadi Olímpic de Barcelona (it was my first big concert, someday I'll explain it to you!) so I was so excited to see this concert film. The quality of the recording was astonishing in those days. Never seen somethig similar at the cinema. And if you add the Stones music at a loud volume, it has been my best experience at a cinema until today. One hour and a half watching one of the greatest band in rock history was so exciting. And coming back to the hotel with The Rolling Stones music inside my brain was so... crazy!
