If you're already familiar with the hymn What God Ordains is Always Good, give this new setting a listen, as I think it fits the text better. If you've never heard this hymn, I'll tell you what it's not:
- It's not motivational.
- It's not about "recommitting" yourself or "turning your life around".
- It's not about how comfortable and easy your life will be if you just have enough faith.
It is about humble submission to God's will and the acknowledgement that we are currently incapable of understanding his master plan, beyond the fact that he sent his Son to suffer and die for our sin so that we can be with him forever. It is also about God's nearness to the brokenhearted and his saving those whose spirit is crushed (Psalm 34:18).
