You’ve seen or heard of him lately. In the past 7 months, he’s had 5 songs on the Top 100 in the billboards. His music videos garner attention and will make you watch whether you’re a fan or not. I recently heard about this cat Tekashi69 whose real name is Daniel Hernandez and have to say after listening to some of his interviews, he seems smarter than he appears. Whether intentionally done or not, he utilized some of the 48 laws of power to market and propel himself as one of the recent most talked about artists.
These are some of the laws from the book 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene on how 69ine became notorious.
LAW 8: MAKE OTHER PEOPLE COME TO YOU – USE BAIT IF NECESSARY
Among many things he said and did to draw verbal and physical attacks from rivals, 69nine proclaimed himself to be the King of New York. This annoyed lot of people; especially the older generation of hip-hop. Many people took offense because his image and style does not appear to fit that of an artist from Brooklyn for instance. When you make your rival expend energy to come and attack you, this puts you in control because the opponent is abandoning his or her own plans in the process.
LAW 18: DO NOT BUILD FORTRESSES TO PROTECT YOURSELF – ISOLATION IS DANGEROUS
Even though he has enemies, he claims that he “lets his nuts hang”. This means you can find him in the streets mingling with his allies. Even though building a fortress seems the safest, isolation is more dangerous because it cuts you off from valuable information.
LAW 28: ENTER ACTION WITH BOLDNESS
He’s outlandish with his actions and music videos. His lyrics contain many bold statements and his numbers thus far has backed him up in the charts from the attention he commands.
