Lessons: Shredding some Trivium with Aidan

in music •  6 years ago

Happy Monday everyone.

Here's my super talented student Aidan ripping through the Trivium tune: Tread the Floods.🤘 Nothing like a little fire to melt this storm away 😉🔥❄️

If you ever come across a tune that's super challenging for yourself no better thing to do than to slow the song down and play along. This is a much more efficient way to not only perform it better when sped up, but also learn it faster. Using the traditional metronome is usually the suggested way to go, but can often be a snore fest/ uninspiring. That's why I often recommend my students play to the song on youtube slowed down, or use a TAB playback program such as Guitar Pro (can be heard in this video). Which you can find some very good quality tabs for on the website ultimate guitar.

Here Aidan is doing it at about 70 percent of the speed. Sounding damn good buddy.
