Busted-Ass Rhodes...

in music •  7 years ago

About to do a full refurb of this Rhodes, but before I did that, I wanted to attempt a video where I played around its problems. Only about 70% of the notes work at all, and some experimenting showed as long as I stayed in G blues box, I could mostly have notes that made Rhodes-ish sounds, instead of various plonks and thunks. I'm not terribly comfortable playing in G, and I'm sure that shows, but horsing around is horsing around. Good Saturday-night fun, anyhow.

Good luck. I had a Rhodes Mark II back in the days (it was about 1979/1980). I loved it and it was the instrument I collected a lot of experience with playing in a band (and a jazz big band from time to time). But then the roof of the building I used to rehearse in was blown away in a storm and the rain damaged my good old Rhodes completely.
I´ll follow you hoping to see and hear everything working fine with your gear. Enjoy your day! Rolf from the Czech Republic
