Have you ever considered writing your songs in reverse?

Thinking Backward

Here's a neat trick to help out your songwriting endeavors: instead of building from one chord to the next, try thinking backward by starting with the last chord in the verse or chorus and adding chords the precede it.

This can change the way you view a harmonic progression and inspire you in ways that more conventional "forward thinking" doesn't.
