Hello, everyone! This is what I hope will be one of the last updates before I have everything that I need! I've said that so many damn times. The ball jiggling from the universe continues..
The new PC and 32 inch screen arrived recently. I'm setting everything up, which is always fun. As I type, FL Studio is downloading. Has another hour to go. I also got a brand new dual connection modem/router and upgraded my internet speed, so given the PC with all of the extra magick I didn't have before, I'm hopeful my experience with my audio interface improves...
I found some new tools for the program which should make things like creating a drum beat a lot easier.
Percussion, in my opinion, is what really captures the ear. At least, it does for me. The drumpad is really annoying in FL and I was considering downloading the EzDrummer2 plug in dohickey. Does anyone have any experience using it in FL Studio?
I'm looking very forward to getting to work. I have serious apprehension about how long it's taken. Yeah, yeah...part of journey and all that...but fuck, man...used to be so damn simple. You had five cassette tapes and you hoped for the best. Now, you've got all of this unnecessary shit that makes things more complicated than they have to be.
I'd like to talk about the future :3
Now, I'm not quite ready to tackle my education on streaming quite yet. But it is on the horizon...
I've spoken with many folks on the subject of what I would need. And I've gotten very mixed signals on whether I need a console or a different audio interface. The professionals over at Sweetwater have said if I were to get an interface with enough mic preamps, that's all I would need in order to have a few guitar amps mic'd and two vocal mics. I thought I would record bass and drums and have it playing somehow and we could play over it using headphones. I'm just not sure how that would work...If I would be forced to have to get a bassist and potentially, a drumset and an assload of mics just for the drumset and an acoustic set up I'm hoping to avoid.
Most of the time, it would just be me and a guitar. So in most cases, it would just be one guitar amp mic'd and one vocal mic. I plan to have many local musicians sit in with me now and again. Hence the mention of the extra guitar and vocal mic. If anyone knows of any music streamers who might be able to maybe get in touch with me and give me any input that might be helpful, I'd be grateful. Otherwise, I'll continue to try to get as much information as I can.
I'm very excited, guys :D I'll have something special soon, I promise. It's coming. Can't stop it. It's gonna be great. Here's a video for you.
Take care! Talk soon~
