Dtube Exclusive - An Irish Jig for St. Pattie's Day! (Flute)

in music •  7 years ago

Happy St. Pattie's Day Everyone!

I hope you are all wearing green and drinking a little green beer! To help get you in the spirit - here's an Irish Jig played on my flute. I wish I could have done some river dancing while playing the flute...but that would have been a trainwreck. I'd be lying if I didn't say that I at least tried it though. lol

Have a fun and safe holiday everyone!

xo, Lea

I love it!! Celtic music is the best! I also love the sound of this type of flute! btw, What is this type of flute called?

Aww thanks my friend! I would just refer to this as a metal flute, or maybe a traditional flute. One day it would be really fun to learn how to play a wooden flute and do more native music too.

ohh yeah! My step that plays the wooden one, he has mad skills.. he doesn't even know what notes he is playing.. but if you play a song for him and tell him to play it with the flute.. he does it perfectly. He was just born with the talent for it. lol

Hey that’s pretty good!

Thanks friend! I’m a bit rusty... haven’t played much in the last decade, but it’s fun to pull the flute out every once in a while!

You can play the flute as well? This is total mastery, your control is out of this world, the lushness of the sound, and the way it dazzled, I'd say your queen of instruments, way to go this is beautiful.

Aw thank you for your kind words! You always have the sweetest compliments for me!

Of course I think you need to host an all instrument contest I could be your P.A 😁😁

Multi-talented in Music. I think you did not practise your flute too often. It is really a good effort. At some part, were you a bit out of breath? Anyway, dare to attempt and step out of comfort zone that one of your posts mentioned and you fully fulfilled it. Great job in doing what you said!

Thanks for listening! If you can believe it, I actually spent a couple hours practicing to even get it this good. 😬 Haha I don’t play very often, and so I’m pretty rusty. I used to be really good back in high school... but that was over a decade ago. lol I would like to start practicing more often, but I have to be conscious of my poor neighbors too. Flutes are not a quiet instrument.

Thanks again for listening!

Hey I play flute too on my open mic videos, reallly cool! Love that kind of stuff. I'd actually really love to have you on my online open mic. I was mainly doing it on youtube, but decided I need to get in on this steemit thing! Mind if I use a video of yours?

Wow, so cool to meet another flute player!! I thought I was the only one here. Haha

Yeah, feel free to use any of my music videos I have posted here for your online open mic. 👍🏻

I dig a bit of an Irish jig! Reminds me of the first time I toured my music through Ireland and heard trad music there! Mindblown!

Wow, touring in Ireland sounds pretty amazing! I’m glad you enjoyed this little jig.

You just received a 100% UPVOTE from a #TeamDUnite member. Keep the great videos rolling :D

What a nimble and versatile girl

Nice tune and well played. Just to remind you it's actually called Paddy's day not Pattie's. Us Irish are very particular about the name. Cailin mhaith.
