Was an American rock band formed in 1985 in Los Angeles around the American singer Axl Rose (William Bill Bailey, 1962) and British guitarist Slash (Saul Hudson, 1965). Its provocative image, its philosophy true to the motto "sex, drugs and rock and roll" and his aggressive lyrics were always cause for scandal in the United States, where they arrived to take up voices calling for his censure. Its combination of punk and hard rock was a great success: in Appetite for Destruction (1987) sold eight million copies only in United States. Their albums Use Your Illusion I and II (1991) and The Spaghetti Incident? (1993) had a similar success.

Their first album, Live... like a suicide (1986), went unnoticed, but after an intensive series of concerts by the Californian territory, the producer Geffen Records signed them in late 1986. The following year were an excellent opportunity to make themselves known at the national level into the opening act on a tour of the legendary Iron Maiden, although the new band was unable to complete it: Axl Rose lost the voice in the middle of the tour and Slash had to be taken to a clinic to recover from his continuous abuse of alcohol and drugs.

They returned to the stage opening for Motley Crue and they released their first album, Appetite for Destruction , in August 1987. A long national tour of fourteen months would lead them to become interpreters of the most requested to live, above even the Aerosmith rock. In July 1988 he released the single Sweet Child or ' Mine, that it would be the first number one of the band and would receive the Grammy Award for best song of the year rock. They stopped their American tour to play at the legendary festival in Donnington Monsters of Rock (Great Britain), in which the band had to stop his performance on three occasions to soothe the fevered mass. Favoured by the direct, in September 1988 her album Appetite for Destruction reached the number one on the American charts.

They were published at the end of the year 1988 G 'N' R Lies , with four songs from their first album and four new, coinciding with a tour of Japan songs. In 1991 saw light, at last, a great project: Use Your Illusion, consisting of two double discs (numbered I and II) album which would not initially meet the expectations of success, despite the undoubted quality of most of the topics contained in both volumes, as Estranged, Civil War, Don't damn me or the version of the classic Knockin' on heaven's door , Bob Dylan's.

The irregular life of its members led to long periods of inactivity in the band. In 1992, the composer of most of their subjects, Izzy Stradlin, left Guns N' Roses and formed his own group: The Ju Ju Hounds. The last training work, The Spaghetti Incident? , dates back to 1993, with a very delayed release due to the veto of the company to the inclusion of a topic (Look at your own way) composed by Charles Manson, one of the most famous murderers of recent American history. The album was a sort of tribute to the band with all those songs and groups that had influenced his music.

By then, Guns N' Roses had already acquired an international reputation that surpassed, in some ways, the chances of the survival of a group that, as such, ceased to exist. Since then, Slash worked with artists as diverse as Michael Jackson, Iggy Pop, Lenny Kravitz or singer Spanish Marta Sánchez; only that followed active in the music scene was Izzy Stradlin with the Ju Ju Hounds, but with a modest presence in the local circuit in Los Angeles.

In December 1999, its house label, Geffen Records, released the latest work of the band: Live Era ' 87-93' , a live album (with sensitive touches of study) that contains their best hits ever and a single unreleased (It's allright), while part of the live repertoire of the Group since the times more remote.

The release of this work, as well as the inclusion of a new item (Oh, my good! ) ( ) on the soundtrack of the film of the end of the day (1999), starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, fired the rumors about the return of Guns N' Roses, without that it has come to define many of its components originals of the band would return with her. Finally was Axl Rose who reconstituted the group with new members. Training returned to the stage in 2001, and after many problems and postponements, launched in 2008 the debut of its new stage, Chinese Democracy, promoted on a tour with the same name.
