As a hopeless romantic, I had to start off with our love song genie, Ed Sheeran. This flame-haired artist is a famous Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, record producer and guitarist with genres of pop, folk pop and acoustics. His musicianship, song writing skills and unique raw but passionate voice, makes him a diverse artist.

Edward Christopher was born in Halifax, West Yorkshire on the 17 February 1991 and raised in Suffolk. He grew up to the sounds of Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton but “Irish” by Van Marrison inspired him. He sang in a church choir from the age of four and learned to play guitar while in elementary school but his song-writing started in high school. As a teenager, he was excepted at the National Youth Theater in London and furthered his studies at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford.

He was spotted at “The Foxxhole by Jamie Fox who offered Ed the use of his recording studio and a bed in is house. In 2010, he used Youtube to grow his fan-base, releasing two Eps, one of which was “Songs I wrote with Amy”. He reached number 2 on the iTunes chart without a label or promotions, selling 7 000 copies in his first week. In 2012, he won the Brit Awards for best male solo artist. In 2013, he was the opening act for Taylor Swifts “The Red Tour” which helped him launched his career. In 2015, he set up his own label called “Gingerbread Man Records”.
