Amazing Guild M 20 E Road test.

in music •  6 years ago

This beautifully finished Guild M-20E Electro Acoustic was the first guitar of the production line in 1967 and features on the album cover of Nick Drake's "Bryter Later" album giving the guitar a nickname "the Nick Drake guitar". The Guild M20E is a concert sized all solid mahogany electro-acoustic guitar featuring a rosewood bridge and fingerboard with a luscious light satin finish allowing the guitar to breathe and resonate to the full potential of the mahogany.

Built in the new state of the art California facility to the Guild standard with period correct appointments including a vintage style rosette and traditional Guild inlaid peak logo on the headstock. All completed with a hand signed certificate of authenticity and shipped in a hard shell case. The Guild M-20e is the perfect choice for a small sized all solid mahogany piece. A real true piece of Guild guitars acoustic heritage.

USA Built
In terms of tone and sonic character, there is oodles of charm, with a familiarity you get from the dry mahogany punch. Harmonic overtones galore although foundation response is not lost or overpowered by the clarity and tight definition. A great drop tuning guitar.

The L.R.Baggs Element VTC pickup system is again built in California and unlike standard under saddle acoustic pickups that rely on string compression, this beautiful sounding active pickup has been designed to mirror the soundboards movements you create. Unrivalled dynamic range and minimal construction create the intimate pairing between the pickup and the guitar for the highest possible fidelity.
