Deep Techno :: Tune of the Day : Tanzprognose - Palinopsia

in music •  7 years ago

Deep and meditative is the name of the game here, with menacing undertones and steady progression taking things slow into a spacey and droney atmosphere. Each new element introduced comes off incredibly organic, yet unpredictable and surprising. Second half throws a curveball with an introduction of smooth new melodic line that would simply be a spoiler if I say any more about it, but comes as a nice change after very intense prior buildup. Don't get fooled, things get back to the darker vibes from there on, making it a stellar example of progression and arrangement done right, not showing all your cards right away. Superb production aside, emotionally Palinopsia reminds of long intense winter days, harsh and barren yet beautiful in their own, somber leaden ways. Hiding your face into a thick of layers to stay away from cold, this track similarly envelopes you with it's murkiness, cold to the touch but glowing from the inside with sparse hopeful eager breaking out, generating scarce energy important for sustaining it's weighty runtime, again similar to long winter nights. My favourite part of the tracks is the balance of dubbed out main theme and unanticipated new elements introduced throughout.

What is Tune of the Day?

Something that I do for my rising revelations series is search for new music daily. So it is only natural that I should be sharing some of the daily highlights as too often the tracks are amazing but they don't make it into a final episode as they might not fit that week's mood or concept.

More than anything, the reasoning behind the series was always sharing new exciting music by artists that are longing to be heard so any extra exposure is a good thing.

All artists featured on the blog are contacted and notified of the post, and any reward for the post will be split with the artists after my gentle nudge to join this incredible community.

I love putting my feelings about music into writing so each post will also have a couple of my own words on why I love that particular track and how I perceive it, a mini-review of sorts.
