June 24th had us out on the town for more live music.
The night’s bands - Mighty Mighty Bosstones with Los Kung Fu Monkeys!
Neptune Theater - Seattle
The evening began with a Seattle tradition - dinner at Pagliacci Pizza on “The Ave”. This local chain opened in 1979 and serves New York style slices. The business is consistently voted Seattle’s top pizza in local polls. The hubs and I each enjoyed a delicious slice of pepperoni.
Dinner at Pagliacci Pizza on “The Ave” aka University Way in Seattle’s U-District. This pizzeria, located just one block from the University of Washington, is the chain’s original location and has been serving slices since 1979. Sadly, I JUST heard this location will be closing on July 26th after almost 40 years!!! I ate here all through high school and college so am pretty bummed. Damn you Seattle!!!
After dinner we walked over to the Neptune. The Neptune Theater opened November 16th, 1921! At the time it was a state of the art movie theater with a pipe organ, the most modern amenities and seating for 1000 people! The space is filled with nautical decor to match the venue’s name. After a seven month transformation in 2011, the movie theater was converted into a live music venue. Source

Opening Band: Los Kung Fu Monkeys!
Los Kung Fu Monkeys
L.K.F.M. are a high energy ska punk band founded in 1997 by Canadian brothers in Tijuana, Mexico. The band’s sound has a heavy Latin influence and many of their songs are performed in Spanish. The band has released nine albums and are credited with popularizing the ska punk scene throughout Mexico.
First song of the night.
The band breakin’ it down.
The lead singer was fully in the crowd for this song. He had sooooo much energy. Every picture I took of him throughout the night was just a blur. Part way through this video he jumps up and does massive air splits!
Headliners: The Mighty Mighty Bosstones!!!
Love this band.
Ok, this is the second time we have seen the Bosstones this year. First was at Back to the Beach Fest this past April in Huntington Beach, CA. AND.... (full disclosure) we will be seeing them AGAIN in August at the Cranking and Skanking Festival in Worcester, Massachusetts!
The band opened with their song “Rascal King”.
The Bosstones, led by front man Dicky Barrett, hail from Boston, Massachusetts. The band formed in 1983 and released their first studio album, Devil’s Night Out, in 1989. The album is regarded as one of the first is the ska-core genre. This musical style combines ska with hardcore punk and generally features a substantial horn section.
Dicky Barrett is also well known for being the announcer on “Jimmy Kimmel Live”.
Along with Dicky, original members of The Bosstones include:
- Tim “Johnny Vegas” Burton - tenor saxophone 🎷
- Joe Gittleman - bass guitar 🎸
- Ben Carr - dancer 🕺🏼
Barrett and Carr wiggle their bums!
Additional band members include:
- Joe Sirois - drums 🥁
- Lawrence Katz - guitar 🎸
- Chris Rhodes - trombone
- John Goetchius - keyboards 🎹
- Leon Silva - saxophone 🎷

You're welcome! And yeah, the number of services and apps built on Steemit is always increasing, it can be daunting!
@MinnowBooster offers a lot of services, one of them is "vote-buying" where you send some SBD in order to get a vote that will return a bit of profit back to you.
It's helpful for posts you spend a long time on and want to take to the Hot or Trending section, but in order to get access to the larger quantities we manually review people to make sure you aren't abusing the program on bad quality, plagiarized, offensive content, etc.
