4th European Tour: Day 1 - 3 // Brno, Kroměříž, Warsaw // :)

What’s up peeps?
As you know, we’re on our 4th European tour, covering Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary. In the first three days we’ve covered the longest routes, and now we’re just basically going south towards our home – which is always a nice feeling.

The first day was the hardest.
We packed our stuff, rented the car early in the morning, and then it took around one hour to arrange it somehow, so that everything fits in. Even tho’ there’s just three of us, we’re carrying the whole backline – drums, amps, stands, instruments, etc.. We had to put one of the toms into the kick drum (which would be great if we didn’t have to take the whole drums out and use them every night) and somehow packed all of the stuff in one by one, barely leaving any space for ourselves :D.
BUT, we were full and ready to go :)

Czech Republic - Brno

We went on the road around 10-11 AM and arrived to the city of Brno around 7 hours later.
Thankfully, we were greeted by a really awesome host called Pavel - with some great czech beer - so it was easier to forget the whole road ;).
We played the event early, in a really cool club called Ponava, and we played it acoustic on their terrace.
It was really interesting, and different. @bonvivan played softly and more intimate, and I transferred most of the drum-lines to a floor-tom and played it with a mullet.
(mostly playing kick parts on the skin, and the snare parts on the rim)
It was really cool, and we managed to meet our friend and collegue musician Daniel, who was just in town completely randomly. So the whole night was really nice, and drunk :)

Czech Republic - Kroměříž

Second day we had a really short trip (compared to Zagreb – Brno’s 500 kilometers) to Kroměříž, which is a small town on the west of Czech Republic. The crew there really liked us last time we were there, so they managed to squeeze us in a festival they’re organizing.
It was a small event for around 50 – 100 people, and we all played in a small amphitheater-like place.
Great thing that happened was the fact that all of the bands that played on the festival were great. You could hear that they’re really into what they’re doing.
The first two were sort of hard-core math-rock-punk, and with really interesting sound and songs. Pretty skillful playing and really nice people. The last band was a sort of improvisational live techno duo. It was awesome, and of course we finished the night drunk as hell ;).

Poland - Warsaw

So, after that we went to Warsaw. And (as we imagined) the city welcomed us with gray colors and rain. It was pretty impressive, the whole socialist architecture is monumental and sort of frightening – especially in that weather. We played in the same complex as a year ago, but in a different club. We even played with the same band as the last time, and they really made us feel like home.
The bands name is: Spirits of the Air.

Unfortunately, the club next doors had a stoner festival, and the other club next door also had a concert, and the worst part is that we came in and had our gig on the same day as the biggest event of the year was happening in Warsaw. Hahaha, that’s our luck… :D

They told us that it’s some kind of legendary alternative festival where a bunch of screamo bands are playing a couple of songs each in a ten minute set - and some stoner bands are also playing half of their songs (since it’s only a 10 minute set) :D. So, basically, there were around 10 people on our show (including the guys from the first band.)
But, the show was great...
Our friend Igor actually hitch-hiked from Berlin to Warsaw to see us, and as he came to the club, he didn’t have any money to get in (and of course we forgot to put him on the list – since we’re on tour mostly getting the new audience). So, that was quite a bummer, but he managed to hear some of the songs through the doors :) and of course we got drunk as fuck later-on.

Now we’re heading towards Krakow and I feel that my endorphin dose is lowered from partying and meeting a bunch of nice people. I get really excited when I feel loved, and when I feel that I can love. :D It even occurred to me that I’m probably not bi-polar like I’ve been described before, but more in a manic sort of setting, since I get really really happy and excited easily (and strive towards it) and after which I feel really down and sad. I guess that is often described as a manic state of mind.. Hmm. :/

But anyways, It’s nice. Our small gang is holding just fine, the gigs are getting better and better, the people really like our music and we really like the people.
Tomorrow we’re leaving Poland and entering Slovakia, and we’re gonna pass the middle point of the tour :). Hopefully the rest of the tour will be nice.

I’ll keep you posted.
Cheers :)
