Since we did the EP for quite some time, I’ve decided to present the songs from it a bit more.
So, we did an EP in collaboration with an electronic artist called Bellboy from Belgrade.
I already wrote a post about him, he’s a crazy twisted guy with a really unique sense of humor and aesthetics.
After we sent him a short clip of our jam, he made a long REMIX of it by sampling some parts. After which we sent him the recorded lyrics, and then a narrative was created.
He created a remix, and we created a remix of his remix, then he made a new remix making a completely different concept out of our story.
Our original lyrics were (translated from Croatian):
The essence is in the necessity to create a new world
This new world would be situated in the existing world
But would be a way larger
The new world would be absolutely the same as the old one
The same, but read in a new way
The same, but with a different meaning
The new world allows for various intepretations
But each one has to come to the same root
The root has to be explained in many ways
So that each explanation is complete and means the same
Or I don't wanny play anymore
YOU CAN LISTEN TO THE SONG ON BANDCAMP
In this song he really concentrated on the last sentence:
Or I don’t wanna play anymore…
By focusing the whole narrative on the word “PLAY” he made a landscape with sounds from old-school games.
That way he actually pointed the question of actually creating a NEW WORLD through virtual reality. In that way he - sort of - changed the whole concept. The need for creating the new world doesn’t have to be altruistic, or an active or aware action, but just a change of perception (like focusing on the game).
Anyways, that way he created a completely new song out of the same concept – while respecting the narrative and the whole idea.
Awesome job :).
Hopefully you enjoyed this!
Cheers.
I could shoot down ghosts and demons along to this for hours. Needs the extended mix lol
