Motor City Drum Ensemble is London club XOYO's latest resident DJ.
The German artist, real name Danilo Plessow, will play ten consecutive Friday nights at the East London venue from October 13th through December 15th. He'll be joined by weekly guests, though they won't be announced until next month.
"It's been literally a decade since I've had a regular weekly spot at a club and it feels great to be back, doing what I did for most of my early career," said Plessow. "I now have the opportunity to not only play peak time, but also the warm-up set. It's kind of surreal and I'm forever grateful for the opportunity to see how things have changed over the course of these past years."
Plessow will be the latest artist—following Andy C, The Black Madonna and Erol Alkan—to helm XOYO's quarterly residency programme. Tiga, Scuba and Heidi have also done three-month stints at the club in previous years.
