18 years of unreleased original studio recordings in the T.H.C Vault!

What in the world are we waiting for?

Maybe a new technology to share it to the world?

So the saga of The High Country all began in 2000 when I put and add in the paper for like minded musicians.

I took an add out in the local gazette, saying looking for cool musicians in the style of Bob Marley, Pink Floyd, and The Grateful Dead.
That should reel in some groovy cats I thought ! :)

This dude named John answered the Add!
He showed up saying he was going to play "percussion" and was familiar with the solo music of Mickey Hart, one of the drummers from The Grateful Dead.

That was great he knew about Mickey, as I was a huge dead head :)

Low and belold we had no idea that he was an amazing guitar player.
When he finally picked up the guitar and played, we were shocked and said ....."Ok, you should stay there then!".

You can check out what I'm saying in this shot of John's solo :)
Let's get right to some music!

At the time we were playing with another drummer from my blues band.
But we had to make the call to switch to a new Drummer :(
It was a hard decision, as we were all very close buds.
But the Music had to come first.

I was aware of a great drummer friend of mine named Mike, who was the first in our circle of friends to see the G.D. back in 78' . He had been playing in a G.D. cover band for years in Montreal.

So with the super chops and Jazz Fusion bag of John, and the solid grooves and G.D. jamming experience of Mike, The High Country was formed :)

Layered with my special blend of space grooves.

John Acer: Guitar/Guitar Synth
Mike Weinberger: Drums
Jason Cochrane : Bass

What is The High Country one might ask?
"A Psychedelic realm up in the clouds "
Nothing to do with country music :)

T.H.C.

Acronym?
Whoa man......Top secret pot heads.

Now back to the saga of why we don't have an album after so many years of playing and recording?
Hmm?

We do however have 18 years of amazing Jams recorded in the Vault, done at Mikes home studio!
Which we have mined out the best tracks, that we feel are 'gold' and have ALMOST released an album or two.
There is much more digging to be done in the mine too :)

I'm going to upload it all here ! :)
Maybe it was all waiting for the Block-Chain?

Some more live music!

The Oscar Peterson Sessions 1 and 2 recorded at the Concordia University Concert Hall.

Some great music was produced by us in those sessions.
Days of Funk Improv Fusion in an empty concert hall all to ourselves.
It was around this time that we invited Laurent Menard on trumpet to the funky line up as well.

An amazing effort put together by John for setting it all up, financing it,
and buying us all sweet Indian dinners every night.

An album that John produced came from the the sessions called
"John Acer Pure Jam Vol .1", which has some really great playing, and is essentially T.H.C in disguise!

The music is Still yet to be released, and few more albums worth of material from those sessions for sure is to come.

Then came Oscar Perterson Sessions Vol.2 a few years later, with some more groovy sessions into the vault.
Vault overload?

Some More Live Action!

The Psych Fest was a real Trip, check out some Jams, It's a 100% pure improv Set :)

But...
Moral was low once again, and we decided we needed a name change!

We were tired of hearing T.H.C:(
So a re-birth to Alpha Tofu was implemented!

Hey a freaky new name? That should do it!
What saith you folks?
Wait what the hell does Alpha Tofu mean anyway?

We played at some festivals as well as some cool art venues and bars around Montreal, but we were, and still are looking for the right Venue or Big festival circuit shot!

18 years later
We have to be the most disorganized group of great players!
The Potential is HUGE, Given a practice once in a blue moon, or at least once a year:)

What do you guys think?
Give up?
Jump off a cliff :P
Practice?
Um... Go insane?
Try high level mathematics or voodoo?
Build a studio in another dimension?
Get new players?

That defeats the T.H.C formula, and is something different :(

T.H.C./ALpha Tofu
Will they ever play?

Stay tuned kids!

Will Jay or Doctorspacebass go insane!
( um ... I think that it's too late dudes)

But wait! >>>>>>>

Its not over yet folks!
The saga continues......

Will we record the official studio album and tour the universe?

Maybe with some suggestions from the cool community on steemit, we will get another Restart or Rebirth!
The music needs to get out to the people.
That I have always known in my heart and soul.

Time to upload it all to the B- Chain - 18 years of Music
Lets embed it in stone!

I want an alien race to find a floating node in space
And extract the tunes and crank up the Bass :)

Future-Tube :)
