Robert Nesta Marley, better known as: Bob Marley, is still one of the most well-known and respected reggae musicians.
He was born in Jamaica on February 6, 1945 in a small town called Nine Mike, son of Cedella Booker, an Afro - Jamaican and Norval Marley, a white Jamaican of English descent.
A very curious fact is that Bob Marley had to endure ridicule and contempt on the part of other black Jamaicans, due to his mulatto status.
Among his famous phrases I want to mention:
"Do not live so that your presence is noticed, but so that your absence feels".
"Keep what you have, forget what hurts you, fight for what you want, value what you have, forgive those who hurt you and enjoy those who love you".
"Love does not need to be understood, it just needs to be demonstrated".
"Man is a universe in itself."
"Until that day, the dream of a lasting peace, will remain nothing more than a fleeting illusion."
"People believe that death is stronger than life, but we know that life is stronger than death. That's why life is the way. "
"It is better to die for your freedom than to live in prison for the rest of your life."
Personally, I liked all his subjects, but his greatest successes were:
NO WOMAN, NO CRY
REDEMPTION SONG
Version of DO NOT WORRY BE HAPPY
COULD YOU BE LOVED
IS THIS LOVED
In 2005, Rita Anderson, Marley's widow, wrote a biography in which she harshly criticized her husband, but in my post I do not want to judge the man, but to humbly acknowledge a great artist who sang many songs
