Britcore Old School Uk Hip Hop

in music •  8 years ago

Buried in the rubble of a secret nuclear bunker, catacombed for 1000 years with only its own rawness to keep it alive. Is to be found a branch of hiphop now almost forgotten under the curtain of time. Small but hardcore cults mostly found in Germany and the UK can still be found worshiping at this particular fane, on the darkest of nights.

Legend, although fragmented tells us that britcore emerged late 1980's with humanity only able to hold it on earth till mid 1990's. Although there are reports of a number of factions still active to this day.
Described as hiphop it is very much set aside from what is know as hip-hop today, cut heavily with samples from horror/action films. And gloomy pre/post apocalyptic lyrics mixed with occult and militaristic themes, with more than a passing nod to nuclear war. I would consider britcore the father of what has become horrorcore.

Below a selected number of choice examples of those heretical sounds. In hope the infection may once again burst forth.
