SHE WANTS REVENGE

She wants revenge was formed around 2004 in California, by Adam Bravin & Justin Warfield, and is a true personal favorite of mine

They released their self titled debut in 2006 under the geffen umbrella.

I loved the album from the first time i heard it, it catches the perfect feeling of 80’s british new wave, but with a modern twist. It sounded like the band pays homage to acts like joy division, bauhaus, the Cure and other british post punk & wave acts.

Others just called it blatant stealing.

A Rolling Stone magazine review concluded "She Wants Revenge steal from the best, and steal well."

Adam Moerder from Pitchfork was very critica, describing the song titles as "lazy permutations of post-punk poetry," found the melodies too repetitive, and saw the highlights as being "eerily predictable." He calledvthe record, "Too ugly and inaccessible to suggest some sort of post-punk cash-out, they stick out in a batch of songs too bent on edifying studio wizardry over musicianship."

Non the less, the album had quite a good response, they sold almost 300 thousand copy’s of the debut and toured with acts like Depeche Mode

From 2005 to 2011 they released 3 EP’s, 3 Full Length Albums and a dozen of singles

Unfortunately they have never risen into halls of fame & total rockstar domination

and it seemed like she wants revenge would be one of those acts that just silently fades away into obscurity

About 4 years ago ...

In December 2015, the band got a break, and reached a huge audience when the hit show American Horror story named one of their episodes She Wants Revenge and also opened the show with their single Tear You Apart

They gained a lot of popularity because of this and the band announced 10 year anniversary shows throughout California in 2016 and they have teased a full-return.

Last year they played at the INFEST festival in the UK
